MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING  (24/05/2022) BETWEEN ARAB WOMEN IN THE MARITIME ASSOCIATION  AND Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AAST)

AAST - is a regional university operated by the Arab League which runs programs in marine transportation, business, and engineering. AASTMT started as a notion in the Arab League Transport Committee's meetings on 11th of March, 1970.The Academy's inception was in 1972 in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. After that it expanded into Cairo &  New Alamein.

 

Cooperation AWIMA / AAST

The Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and The Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA) signed an MoU to explore opportunities for women’s participation within the academic sphere and thereafter to amplify the success of the regional maritime sector. The agreement is in alignment with International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) efforts to create gender equity in the maritime industry globally and United Nations’ (UN) 5th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). The MoU was signed by H.E. Eng. Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, MOEI and President, AWIMA and H.E. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

 

 

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING  (16/04/2019) BETWEEN ARAB WOMEN IN THE MARITIME ASSOCIATION  AND Association for women in the maritime sector in Eastern and Southern Africa (WOMESA)

WOMESA - is a young association made up of 50 founder members, drawn from countries within East and Southern African region namely:- Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Madagascar ,Mauritius, Seychelles, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Angola, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Djibouti, Swaziland, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, DRC, Comoros, and Kenya .

 

Cooperation AWIMA / WOMESA

Memorandum of Understanding Between Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA) and Association for Women in Maritime Sector in Eastern & Southern Africa (WOMESA) was signed in 16 April 2019 to build cooperation in pursuance of programmes to empower women. by AWIMA President Ms. Wijdan A.Alsuhaibani, Permanent Director of AWIMA General Secretariat Ms Shireene M. Galal & WOMESA Chair of WOMESA Mrs. Lorraine M. Masiza, Head of the WOMESA Secretariat Ms. Veronica Waheti Nduati

 

 

WIMAFRICA - Is a Pan African Gender Maritime Organization created on 25th March 2015, under the auspices of the African Union and kind sponsorship of the Government of Angola.   Cooperation AWIMA / WIMAFRICA  AWIMA and WIMAFRICA Women shall working on having an excellent record of working together to deliver on gender equality and doing so through a number of joint programmed activities in such areas as violence against women and girls, economic empowerment and promotion of livelihood, education for women and girls, capacity building, gender equality and women's role in culture and development.  In line with UN Agenda 2030 Women's empowerment role, both Entitles will take up the leadership in to collaborate with each other
