Women in Leadership – Effective Mentoring in Shipping Webinar

In celebration of the International Women’s Day our Focus Group in Africa is organising an online event with the theme “Women in Leadership; Effective Mentoring in Shipping” on 8th March, 2021, at 11:00am GMT.
Topics to be discussed include:
Leadership traits and skills for success,
Effective Mentoring – bottom up approach and reverse mentoring in the era of COVID-19,
Seafarers sharing experiences before and during Covid-19.
During the event, we will also take the opportunity to officially launch the Focus Group which started in August, 2020.
The moderators of the event will be:
Ms. Oritsematosan Edodo-Emore is a Bilingual, Maritime, Energy, Investment and Environment Lawyer. She is a partner in the Law firm of O. Edodo, Thorpe & Associates a leading Maritime & Commercial Law firm in Lagos, Nigeria. Ms. Edodo-Emore is the Chairperson of Zoe Maritime Resource Services based in Lagos, Nigeria, and is the Executive Member of Women In Maritime West and Central Africa ( WIMoWCA).
Ms. Eunice Ezeoke , is the Managing Director of Bono Integrated Logistics and the President of WISTA Nigeria. She has over 3 decades of experience in the diverse field of maritime, shipping, logistics, and transportation. Having served in various capacities including senior management roles throughout her illustrious career in Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Information on the Focus Group in Africa:
The Focus Group is made up of IMO-established Regional Women in Maritime Associations (WIMAs) in Africa and WISTA International and her National WISTA Associations also in Africa.
The main objective of the Group is to strengthen collaboration and share best practices in the Maritime Industry. It also has the mandate to facilitate the implementation of the IMO Resolution A 31 Res. 1147 on “Preserving the Legacy of the World Maritime Theme 2019 and Achieving a Barrier Free Working Environment for women in the maritime sector.
