Friday, 28 February 2025
As part of efforts to raise community awareness and promote a culture of respect and equality, the African Center for Women’s Health Services organized a specialized training session titled:
“Violence and Its Negative Impact on Society,” in coordination with Ms. Marwa Hafez, President of the Egyptian National Chapter of the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA Egypt).
This initiative falls ضمن the annual plan of the General Administration for Women’s Development and reflects the Center’s ongoing efforts to combat violence against women. The training targeted professionals in the maritime transport and logistics sector, social workers from the Alexandria Directorate of Education, as well as members of AWIMA and the “Ana Masraweya” Foundation.
The workshop addressed key topics, including different forms of violence (physical, psychological, verbal, economic, and digital) and their impact on individuals and society, as well as gender discrimination as a major barrier to achieving equality.
It also explored the impact of violence on children, bullying, harassment, and the legal frameworks addressing violence, while emphasizing the role of social and religious values in promoting tolerance and rejecting violence.
The sessions were delivered by distinguished professors from Alexandria University, providing a comprehensive and impactful learning experience.
This initiative represents an important step toward building a more aware and just society, emphasizing that violence is not an individual issue, but a societal responsibility that requires collective action.
