Launching of the events of the Jordanian Maritime day 2019

Under the patronage of Minster of transport Eng: Anmar ElKhsawana, it was the launching of the events of the Jordanian Maritime day on Sunday 10\2\2019 in Intercontinental hotel in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, ElAkba.

 It is celebrated for the third time in Jordan in participation with all the maritime sectors such as port, logistics and educational sectors, the reason behind it is to discuss the reality of the Maritime sector in Jordan and the ways to improve and promote it , because this sector is important in improving the National Economy and enhancing maritime trade through ElAkba port because most of Jordan’s  exports and imports take place through ElAkba port.

The celebration that lasted for one day included workshops ,discussions and presentations that evolve around four main aspects that are related to maritime , ports and logistics sector:

  1. 1-The importance of developing human resources, to boost Maritime training and education in Jordan and empowering women in the Maritime sector.
  2. 2-The importance of developing the port systems, enhancing the integrated trade chain and logistics and providing the requirements to facilitate transport and trade.
  3. 3-The role of maritime and international conventions and maritime legislations in improving the maritime sector.
  4.  

Experts from inside and outside Jordan have participated in the events in presence of the Fund officer for AIWMA Mrs. Reem Kotaish, she was the representative of the association and she has examined ways of cooperation with various parties in favor of the association.

It is a good opportunity to market and highlight the achievements and the potentials of the Maritime and port sectors in Jordan, the future developing plans and to emphasize Jordan’s effective role in attracting Maritime investments in various fields especially in port services, maritime education and training, registering ships under the Jordanian flag and logistics service within the international standards and requirements.
