Eng. Tamara Saeed Al-Khdour, Head of Public Safety Department - Operations, Aqaba Ports Management and Operations Company - Aqaba Port - Member of the Jordanian National Entity for the Association of Arab Women in the Maritime Sector AWIMA JORDAN participated in the Industrial Safety Week and the Prevention of Major Industrial Accidents in Aqaba organized by the Society of Engineers on November 23, 2022. Chemical Operations Safety in the Chemical Engineering Division of the Jordanian Engineers Association in cooperation with the International Labor Organization - Regional Office for Arab Countries. Engineer / Nayef Bakhit and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner of Economics, Engineer / Hamza Al-Hajj Hassan. The opening was attended by the President of the Jordanian Engineers Association / Aqaba, Engineer / Amer Habashah, a member of the Chemical Engineering Council, Engineer / Yaqoub Bani Taha, and the President of the Society of Chemical Process Safety Engineers, Dr. / Sami Omraneh, and from the regional office of the organization International work for the Arab countries Secretary rosettes and collection from Representatives of the institutions and agencies with competence and relationship from the public and private sectors in the Aqaba Special Region Authority. The officials stressed the importance of cooperation and solidarity of all governmental and private agencies to promote and raise the level of awareness and application of the basics of occupational safety among workers in various sectors, especially industrial ones, which is considered one of the most important and dangerous sectors. It is worth noting that the Chemical Safety Week and the Prevention of Major Industrial Accidents Management will be held over four days, two of which are in Amman and two in Aqaba. The first and second days will discuss lectures on the most important conventions, recommendations and practices related to public health and safety, prevention and preparedness for chemical accidents in the city of Aqaba, and the safe operation of power stations. Natural and liquefied gas, major industrial accidents, investigation of marine accidents, port handling of ammonia, disaster response plans, marine accidents, and a full response plan for emergencies in the industrial zone in Aqaba.
