Eng. Samar El-Sharkawy, AWIMA Egypt Member, Contributes to University Students’ Training at Alexandria and Dekheila Ports

Eng. Samar Ahmed Abdel Ghaffar El-Sharkawy, a member of the Egyptian National Chapter of the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA Egypt), contributed to the implementation of a practical training program for university students at the Alexandria and Dekheila Port Authority, from 1 July to 30 September 2025.
The program aimed to support the development of qualified young professionals in line with Egypt Vision 2030, by providing hands-on training opportunities in maritime infrastructure projects, particularly in maintenance and quay operations.
The initiative achieved several positive outcomes, including enhancing youth skills in accordance with sustainable development goals, applying modern training strategies to improve efficiency, and supporting continuous professional development.
It also contributed to introducing innovative ideas to improve the quality of training programs, helping to prepare a new generation capable of contributing effectively to the maritime sector.
This participation reflects the active role of AWIMA Egypt members in supporting applied education and bridging the gap between academic learning and labor market needs.
