AWIMA Morocco Participates in IMO–WMU–WISTA Training Programme in Sweden

The Moroccan National Chapter of the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA Morocco) participated, alongside several countries, in the international training programme titled:
“Women’s Leadership and Empowerment in the Maritime Sector,”
organized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in collaboration with the World Maritime University (WMU) and WISTA International, from 6 to 10 October 2025 in Malmö, Sweden.
The programme aimed to empower future female leaders in the maritime sector by developing essential skills such as leadership, strategic thinking, critical thinking, and project management, through a comprehensive approach combining theory and practical application.
It also focused on strengthening women’s participation in decision-making roles within the maritime industry and expanding opportunities for women to contribute to the sector’s development at both regional and global levels.
This participation reflects the commitment of AWIMA Morocco to building the capacity of women leaders and enhancing their role in the maritime sector, in alignment with the vision of the IMO and the Sustainable Development Goals.
