AWIMA Launches Campaign Against Violence Against Women (25 November – 10 December2025)

Tuesday, 25 November 2025

On the occasion of the International Campaign to End Violence Against Women (25 November – 10 December), the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA) announced the launch of an awareness campaign reaffirming its commitment to supporting women’s rights and promoting a safe environment free from all forms of violence.
The Association emphasized its strong belief in the right of every Arab woman and girl – along with her family – to live in safety and security within a society free from violence, whether at home, in public spaces, or in the digital sphere.
AWIMA further highlighted that Arab women in the maritime sector are not only partners in development, but also voices that must be heard and forces that must be supported and empowered, contributing to more just and sustainable societies.
In this context, the General Secretariat of AWIMA called upon all national chapters across the Arab region, as well as all women working in the maritime sector, to actively participate in this campaign, contribute to raising awareness, and unite efforts to combat all forms of violence against women and girls.
This initiative aligns with the Association’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 on gender equality, and strengthens collaboration with international organizations working in women’s empowerment.
