Monday, 30 June 2025
The Algerian National Chapter of the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA Algeria) engaged in a two-day professional training program held on 30–31 July 2025, organized in partnership with Global Trade Support (GTS), APEC – Antwerp/Flanders Port Training Center, and Port of Antwerp-Bruges International.
The program aimed to enhance port performance and professional skills, bringing together maritime professionals to discuss key topics related to port operations, logistics, and international cooperation.
Participants benefited from high-quality training content, including practical case studies and a collaborative environment that encouraged open dialogue and knowledge sharing, contributing to the overall success of the program.
The training also featured female participation, with women professionals contributing valuable perspectives to the discussions. Although their number remained limited, their engagement highlighted the importance of promoting greater inclusiveness and encouraging stronger female representation in future capacity-building initiatives.
In this context, AWIMA Algeria continues to support women’s empowerment and promote their participation in capacity-building programs, contributing to a more inclusive and diverse maritime and port sector.
