The celebrations took place across multiple countries, including Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Morocco, and featured panel discussions and official events addressing maritime sustainability, safety and security, as well as innovation and digital transformation in the maritime transport industry.
AWIMA members actively participated in these events, contributing to discussions and knowledge exchange, while emphasizing the importance of empowering women and strengthening their role in leadership and decision-making within the maritime sector.
These celebrations also reaffirmed the commitment of Arab countries to supporting the vision of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 on gender equality, while enhancing regional and international cooperation.
This wide regional engagement, along with AWIMA’s strong presence, highlights the advanced position of Arab women in the maritime industry and their growing contribution to shaping the future of the sector at both regional and global levels.
