Arab Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 63rd Session of Commission on the Status of Women

            The cooperation letter between AIWMA and WIMAAFRICA Association has achieved one of its goals, through steering an invitation from AU to AWIMA to attend the African Regional Ministerial Consultation meeting of the commission of Women’s position at its 63rd session was held from 3 to 6 February 2019 in Nile Ritz Carlton hotel - Cairo , A.R.E.

The Arab Regional Preparatory meeting for the commission of women’s position in its 63rd session on the 4th of February 2019 in Nile Ritz Carlton hotel-  Cairo  A.R.E , Some strategies, unified position for the commission of women’s position have been developed  in NewYork and strategies for social protection of  both genders.

It has been held by the National Council for Women in cooperation with the Ministry of  Foreign affairs , African Union Commission and United Nations office for Women.

 It is in the domain of Egypt’s leadership of the AU in 2019, when the 63rd session was held to for women’s position in NewYork from 11 to 22 February 2019.

This meeting discussed social protection systems through policies, legislation or programs, as well as to make use of the opportunities of public service and sustainable infrastructure that aims to achieve gender equality and to empower women and girls in various fields, this meeting is considered to be a good opportunity to exchange experience on African basis ,to identify the lessons learned and this sheds light on the social protection program and the challenges that prevent achieving gender equality and empowering women and girls. The General Secretariat Miss: Shireene Galal has participated in this meeting and she has examined ways of cooperation with various parties in favor of the association.
