Biography

The Treasurer of AWIMA

Mrs. Qutaish received a degree in Economics and  Finance from Yarmouk University in Jordan. She began her career in banking sector in Jordan.

Since 2004 she started working in the Jordanian Maritime Authority in Aqaba and was able to progress in the field of career and oversaw the management of a number of important positions starting with Internal Audit and Financial Supervision and then served as the Head of the Division of Finance affairs and proved her usefulness and efficiency and continued the career progression to assume its current position in the Directorate Financial and Administrative Affairs at the Jordan Maritime Commission. Through her current position, Ms. Qutaish oversees a number of important departments in the management of the Jordan Maritime Commission, such as Human resources, Accounting, Information and Technology management. In addition, she contributes to the formulation of policies, strategy and budget for the Jordan Maritime Commission and contributes to the formulation of strategic plans for the Jordanian maritime transport sector and following up the financial obligations of her country in the international forums.

During her work at the Jordan  Maritime Commission, Mrs. Qutaish attended several training courses in and outside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan which dealt with topics related to the nature of her work such as logistics, finance, human resource management, maritime transport, women's integration and increased participation of women in public work.

 She represented her country in many meetings and conferences in Arab and international organizations.

Through those years, she continued her  practical advancement and activities related to empowering women and increasing their contribution to the Jordanian maritime sector and  recently she was elected as the treasurer of Arab Women in Maritime Association ‎‎(AWIMA) in October 2017.
