Biography

Communications Media Officer of AWIMA

Ms. Al-Mahariq holds a Bachelor degree in Management information system from Al-Balqa’ Applied University in Jordan.

Since 2004 she began her career at the Jordanian Maritime Commission in Aqaba and was able to progress in the field of career and  she carried out duties as typist and data entry in the administration affairs Division and then served as the executive secretary of the Director General office and proved her effectiveness and efficiency and continued the career progression to assume to be Head of Internal Control Unit to mentoring all administrational, financial, technical procedures in Jordan Maritime Commission, now she is responsible for Planning and Developing the Institutional Performance Unit. Through her current position, Ms. Al-Mahariq oversees an important Job to set the strategic plan with its strategic goals, programs, and projects which is related with National Transport Strategy to achieve Jordan Maritime Commission’s vision and mission with high international standard.

 Ms. Al-Mahariq interest in maritime field began since 13 years ago, when she were employed at JMC. From there on, she was captivated. She were working with a big passion to know how maritime administration manage and carry out its obligations as FS, PS, CS to achieve its mission, vision, toward safer ships and clean seas under the big umbrella the IMO, and this passion become factual; In addition to her job in JMC when she became a member committee to prepare Jordan file to be ready to IMSAS committee which is formed by JMC Director General. when she was participated in women in Port Management training program in France it was a very important motivation for her to know how the women role become more important at the maritime sector. In addition to her role in Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA) as a media affairs officer, so she is looking forward to be one of WMU students to be the first Jordanian women to hold a Master Degree in a very important sector, and it will be a good opportunity to gain a good experience and knowledge in a very important sector.

Ms. Al-Mahariq consider herself as young women, energetic, hardworking, visionary, and motivated person who believes that she can do something for the benefit of her country to which she have been working. She did her best with all maximum efforts she could give for her organization and her country.
